Morgan Gibbs-White says England have the quality to win the World Cup, despite his disappointment at missing Thomas Tuchel’s squad last week.

“I was disappointed, really disappointed, but I was happy with the way I performed towards the end of the season,” he told Sky Sports News.

“I knew in myself I couldn’t do any more. Any kid’s dream growing up is to play at a World Cup or make a World Cup squad list.

“I’m wishing all the boys all the luck, all the best wishes, because this group, they are genuinely an incredible group of players. They’ve got everything they need to win it.”

The former Wolves academy graduate, sold to Nottingham Forest for an initial £25m in 2022, scored 15 Premier League goals this season and has six caps. He was the second highest scoring Englishman in the league, behind Ollie Watkins, and was widely tipped for selection. Phil Foden and Cole Palmer were also overlooked, while Tuchel drew criticism for picking 35-year-old Jordan Henderson.
