Morocco could be without Noussair Mazraoui and Abde Ezzalzouli for their World Cup opener against Brazil after both were injured in Sunday’s friendly against Norway.
Marca reports that Ezzalzouli has a suspected medial collateral ligament sprain in his right knee, sustained when a team-mate landed on his leg at a corner.
The right-back dislocated his shoulder after falling on his arm and was replaced by Youssef Belammari. The setbacks have concerned Morocco’s coach, who fears he may have to omit the pair before the tournament.
Mohamed Ouahbi said he was more worried about the injuries than the performance, added he was satisfied with the style of play, and hopes the injured players recover so they can be available to face Brazil.
Brazil have called up Éderson to replace Wesley, formerly of Flamengo and now at Roma, after he suffered a serious left thigh muscle injury in the friendly against Egypt on Saturday. Carlo Ancelotti has selected four Flamengo players, Danilo, Alex Sandro, Léo Pereira and Lucas Paquetá, and all are available for the meeting with Morocco on Saturday.
