As per a report from Foot Mercato, the Morocco national team are set to call up Lille OSC’s Ayyoub Bouaddi (18) and Fulham’s Issa Diop (29) for the upcoming international break.
The latter has played 15 games for Fulham this season. Diop has never represented France’s senior side, however, he featured prominently at youth level and made six appearances for the U21 side. Morocco have been engaged in an attempt to convince Diop to join their national set-up for several years and the defender has now decided to respond to the call, Foot Mercato understands.
Bouaddi, meanwhile, has recently broken through at Lille and he is being sold a bright future, a future that many thought would happen within the France set-up. At just 18, he has already played eight games for France’s U21 side.
However, the Morocco national team are now set to call him up for the March international break. Whether he responds favourably to the call up is something else entirely. Sources close to the federation have revealed that Bouaddi has given a verbal agreement to play for the Atlas Lions. That came after a positive meeting between the federation, Bouaddi, and his family this week.
