Manchester United are working on signing Senegalese midfielder Mouhamed Dabo.

Dabo, who is currently on the books of Be Sport Academy and captains Senegal Under-17s, has landed on United’s radar.

The 17-year-old midfielder, known for his imposing physicality and technical ability, impressed figures at Carrington after undergoing a trial in September.

Man United trying to sign Dabo

According to Fabrizio Romano, as relayed by Givemesport, Dabo’s move to United is “currently blocked”.

While United’s interest in him is “confirmed”, the formal and technical steps are yet to be finalised.

Romano states: “Man United also don’t want to have any issue with his current club as the relationship is excellent.”

Discussions are expected to follow as United are keen to resolve the situation and secure his signature.

The dynamic midfielder recently also trained at Barcelona’s La Masia academy. However, the Italian journalist claims Dabo would be happy to join United’s project as he enjoyed his time in Manchester. “Now it all depends on the technical steps,” Romano adds.

Man United have won the race for Orozco

Meanwhile, United had to fight off a late competition for Cristian Orozco’s services.

United reached an agreement in principle to sign the Colombian midfielder from Fortaleza CEIF in September.

It is understood a German club tried to hijack the deal, but United’s lead scout Giuseppe Antonazzo successfully drove the pursuit, and Orozco is all set to join the Red Devils in 2026, as soon as he turns 18.

United have agreed to pay a $1m transfer fee for Orozco, who has drawn comparisons to Moisés Caicedo due to his aggressive style out of possession.
