Mourinho in frame as Mastantuono ‘to choose’ Serie A, Benfica out | OneFootball

Franco Mastantuono looks likely to leave Real Madrid on loan for 2026/27 after failing to break into José Mourinho’s squad, and he has signalled a preference for Serie A, according to Corriere dello Sport. Benfica are not in the 18-year-old’s plans.

The Argentina under-20 international is said to have told Mourinho he intends to move to Italy.

A return to River Plate was considered, but Real Madrid, led by Florentino Pérez, want him to continue in Europe. A European loan would allow the club to track his development closely.

Fiorentina are viewed as the frontrunners to take him on loan, a solution that also suits Madrid.

Milan, coached by Ruben Amorim, and champions Napoli are monitoring the situation and could move if the market opens.
