José Mourinho is pushing Benfica to prioritise new contracts for Daniel Banjaqui and Anísio Cabral, aiming to convince the board led by Rui Costa. The 63-year-old wants the club to act quickly to protect its academy talent after their displays against Estrela da Amadora.

Record writes that Mourinho also wants José Neto included in the same renewal plan.

All three are under contract until 2027, yet as they approach adulthood they are increasingly attractive to leading European clubs.

Talks have begun over Neto’s extension, with no agreement in place. A similar process is under way with Banjaqui, and Barcelona are monitoring the right-back’s development.

For Anísio Cabral, it is considered a matter of time before Benfica formalise a new deal. The forward was added to UEFA’s List B this week, confirming he can be selected to face Real Madrid.

Cabral has 16 appearances this season across competitions, 10 in the Under-19 league, three in Liga Revelação, two in the UEFA Youth League and one in Liga Portugal Betclic, scoring five in 697 minutes.
