UOL reports that the São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office, MP-SP, has opposed an urgent injunction for immediate judicial intervention at Corinthians, responding for the first time to a 24 March petition from the 'Salvem o Corinthians' collective.

The opinion is signed by promoter André Pascoal da Silva and by Luiz Ambra Neto, who opened an inquiry in 2025 following a recommendation by Cássio Conserino, the prosecutor investigating alleged irregularities by former club presidents.

It notes the associates allege a succession of reckless boards that, in their view, justify intervention due to immorality and damage to club assets. The filing adds that the matter is already under MP-SP examination.

While acknowledging the gravity of the claims, the prosecutor says the case remains embryonic and does not support a summary decree. He adds that Corinthians must be heard first and warns that hasty measures could worsen the club’s situation if later reversed.

The document backs a 30-day extension for the authors to supplement their petition and attach new material.

Signed by 18 members, the petition was first lodged with the 2ª Vara de Falências e Recuperações Judiciais under the Regime Centralizado de Execuções, then redirected to the 13ª Vara Cível. It cites the rejection of the 2020 accounts of Andrés Sanchez, rising debt, disputed contracts, probes into corporate card misuse by Andrés and Duilio Monteiro Alves, and a 23 March Deliberative Council meeting convened by Osmar Stabile to remove chair Romeu Tuma Júnior, deemed irregular by internal bodies.
