The São Paulo Public Prosecutor's Office has shelved an inquiry into alleged threats, persecution and incitement against Romeu Tuma Júnior, president of Corinthians' Deliberative Council.

According to Meu Timao, prosecutor Marcio Takeshi Nakada of the third Criminal Prosecutor's Office reviewed social media posts and testimony since 2024 and judged most expressions to be criticism or possible insults to honour.

Police opened the case in 2024 after Tuma Júnior reported receiving threats, intimidation and attacks on social media. He said the messages followed Council decisions on internal probes and the impeachment of then president Augusto Melo, who was removed months later.

Tuma Júnior alleged a digital militia of profiles and influencers targeted him and other councillors. He also reported a phone threat from someone who claimed to be a Corinthians supporter and part of the Primeiro Comando da Capital, PCC.

Two witnesses told Civil Police they had worked for the club, including social media coordinator Washington de Araújo Silva and Carlos Eduardo Alves de Oliveira, who said he spent about one week at Corinthians TV.

Several social media profiles and influencers were named, some were identified and gave statements. They said they did not intend to threaten or incite, describing posts as opinion or criticism from fans about club decisions. Names cited included Douglas Blasi, Blog do Macedo, Canal do Povo Escolhido and former press officer Dayana Barossi.

Prosecutors said posts might offend honour but found no threat, persecution or incitement. The victim may still file private or civil actions.
