The Team of the Week below is pegged to our traditional 4-4-2.

--------

Marek Rodak - 95

The Al Ettifaq goalkeeper returns to the Best XI following his chief role in his side’s 1-1 draw at home to a rebounding Al Shabab. Rodak made seven saves to help earn a point, while he contributed a game-high 10 good long balls.

--------

Mohamed Simakan - 96

Back for a third successive matchweek, the Al Nassr centre-back made his presence count at the other end of the pitch, scoring a 95th-minute winner in the 1-0 win against NEOM Sports Club to send the hosts back top. When it comes to his bread and butter, Simakan racked up a 12th clean sheet of the campaign.

Roger Ibanez - 96

Retains his place in our Team of the Week, the brilliant Al Ahli defender shone in the 3-1 Sea Derby victory at home to Al Ittihad - a result that saw them occupy the summit for 24 hours. Ibanez was a calming presence at the back, and was typically a handful in the opposition penalty area, too.

Sanousi Al Hawsawi - 94

The Damac full-back starred in his team’s huge 3-0 triumph in the relegation battle with Al Riyadh, netting the home team's third as the southern club broke free of the drop zone. Al Hawsawi’s first goal of the season was allied to a second clean sheet also.

Ahmed Bamasoud - 94

The Al Fayha left-back was integral to his side’s biggest win of the season, registering an assist in the 5-0 victory at Al Okhdood and keeping a sixth clean sheet this term. Bamasoud chipped in also with a joint-high two tackles won, while only two other Al Fayha players produced more than his 62 total touches.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - 98

Few games pass without the sublime Serbian stamping his mark, and this was no different. Milinkovic-Savic’s pull-back not only set up Karim Benzema for Al Hilal’s second against Al Najmah, but he also got on the scoresheet in the 4-0 win.

The midfielder led the contest for successful dribbles (four) with a 100 percent success rate and ranked second in total touches (92).

Jason - 95

Al Fayha’s summer signing is enjoying himself of late, a run of form mirrored by his club. Jason was again hugely influential in the visitors’ massive win at Al Okhdood, teeing up Fashion Sakala for their third and then, minutes later, finishing the Zambian’s assist with aplomb.

Alfa Semedo - 95

There was still space for another Al Majma’ah representative, the Guinea-Bissau midfielder grabbing Al Fayha’s second goal on the night with a lovely, cushioned volley - from Jason's cross. Semedo recorded the joint-best tackles won (two) and topped the encounter for recoveries (seven).

Mohammed Kanno - 94

Alongside Milinkovic-Savic in that Al Hilal midfield, the rangy Saudi Arabian maintained his recent mojo to post game-best numbers against Al Najmah for successful passes (77, and total touches (94), while no one offered more recoveries than his eight.

Another dazzling display helped third-placed Al Hilal stay three points off Al Nassr.

--------

Roger Martinez - 99

Al Taawoun’s red-hot Colombian set the hosts well on their way to a 3-2 success against Al Fateh, opening the scoring right on half-time before putting them three up just after the hour. It lifted Martinez to 19 RSL goals for 2025-26 - and kept him well in the hunt for the golden boot.

Mateo Retegui - 93

Much of the limelight lately may have been taken by strike partner Julian Quinones, but the Italy international matched his teammate with a brace in the 4-1 win at Al Kholood. Just check out his flicked header for Al Qadsiah’s second. Retegui now has 15 goals in his debut RSL campaign.
