“My first impression is very positive” | OneFootball

Speaking from Eintracht’s training camp in Grassau, Mario Götze shares his thoughts on the Eagles squad, his role in the team and new head coach Adi Hütter.

Mario Götze was in fine spirits, if a little peckish, when he faced the media after 105 minutes on the training pitch on Friday, telling reporters he is just as hungry for success with Eintracht Frankfurt this season as he is hungry for lunch. The 34-year-old also spoke about … 

… the squad: “It’s still a little early, but my first impression is very positive. We’ve had the [performance] tests and a few tough training sessions. What I’ve seen so far has left me feeling confident, in terms of how my team-mates are performing, the conditions in Grassau and even the weather. Not to mention the open training sessions we’ve had here and in Frankfurt.” 

… his role: “I feel my role is similar to what it has been in previous years, or since I’ve been at Eintracht. Since 2022, I’ve wanted to be part of the puzzle that helps bring the team and the club success. For that to happen, many different aspects come into play in football. With the exception of last season, we’ve achieved quite a few of our goals.”

… Adi Hütter: “From what I’ve seen in my conversations with him and in training, he’s just the man Frankfurt, the team and the fans need. Ultimately of course, it’s all about winning games and how we perform. I think you can already see in training what we’re aiming to achieve.”
