Nani would go on to play 240 times for the club, scoring 40 goals.

He found game time hard to come by after Sir Alex Ferguson left the club and went out to Sporting CP on loan before moving to Fenerbahce permanently in the summer of 2015.

Nani would later trek the globe and play for Valencia CF, SS Lazio, Orlando City, Venezia.

He then moved to Melbourne Victory, Adana Demirspor and C.F. Estrela da Amadora in the latter part of his career.

The 39-year-old is still going and recently signed for his new club in Kazakhstan, Aktobe.

Instant impact

The Sun report that, “the Portugal legend was brought on for the final 20 minutes of the thumping 4-1 win over Tobol and had an instant impact.”

He was only on the pitch for a matter of three minutes before assisting his new side’s fourth goal with a trademark cross.

After the match, Nani was caught on camera celebrating with the fans. The outlet states that, “a video shows him interacting with the home support as he performs a chant.

It starts with him shouting ‘Ziga’ as they then reply. He then breaks into full voice with the passionate fans joining in with their new hero as they chant ‘Ziga-zaga hey.’

Aktobe sit top of the league after their big win and will travel to face FC Kairat on Monday 16th March.
