According to L'Équipe, Nantes have cut their wage bill by 40% in a year as the TV rights crisis bites, and the club's budget has fallen from €80m to €50m.

Only Mostafa Mohamed and Anthony Lopes remain from last season's top 10 earners.

Most of the other senior, well-paid players have departed. Low-cost summer punts failed to impress, prompting winter moves for Cabella, Sissoko and Machado, with little improvement.

R. Cabella, D. Machado, Mostafa Mohamed, Anthony Lopes and I. Sissoko are on €100,000 gross per month.

C. Awaziem and J. Lepenant each earn €80,000 per month.

N. Cozza, M. Abline, I. Ganago, K. Amian and M. Kaba are on €70,000 per month.

The average gross monthly salary is €50,000.
