Lazio stunned Napoli 2-0 at the Stadio Maradona, becoming the first visiting side to win there in Serie A this season. The result felt like a decisive blow in the Scudetto race.
Matteo Cancellieri struck early. Mattia Zaccagni then saw a first-half penalty saved and missed the rebound, before Toma Basic fired in the second after the interval. The Laziali notes several standout displays in their ratings.
Alessio Romagnoli marshalled the back line with authority and Nuno Tavares surged forward relentlessly, one break helping pave the way for the clincher. Goalkeeper Edoardo Motta kept a straightforward clean sheet, called into action only at the end.
In midfield, Toma Basic had tested the goalkeeper before scoring, and his return has been a timely boost. Kenneth Taylor delivered a precise assist for the opener, while Danilo Cataldi anchored deep to shield the centre-backs.
Up front, Cancellieri was in the right place to finish, and Zaccagni’s missed spot-kick blemished his outing. Tijjani Noslin was pivotal, pickpocketing Alessandro Buongiorno to win the penalty, then leaving him behind in the move that preceded the second.
