Napoli have condemned AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri, alleging he subjected their sporting coordinator Gabriele Oriali to uncontrolled aggression and insults during the Italian Super Cup semi-final.

The club said in a statement on Friday that Allegri heavily and repeatedly insulted Oriali at pitchside in front of dozens and live on television, and it hoped the incident would not be overlooked, noting 33 cameras covered the event.

The match was played in Riyadh on Thursday evening, and Antonio Conte’s side won 2-0.

The flashpoint followed a foul by Adrien Rabiot, a kick on Matteo Politano’s ankle, around the half-hour mark, with no booking shown. Conte and Oriali demanded a red card, prompting exchanges between the benches.

The head coaches did not shake hands at full time.
