Wolves look set to have Nasser Djiga back this summer, with Rangers unlikely to pursue a permanent deal after his loan. The defender joined on loan at the start of the season after limited minutes following his mid-season move to Molineux in 2024/25. Despite recent improvement in Scotland, the finances point to a return.
“Danny Rohl has praised his form recently, but I can’t see Rangers splashing the cash that it would take to bring him to Ibrox permanently.” He told the E&S.
“Wolves paid £10 million and, while he might grow into that fee, he isn’t there yet and I can’t see Rangers opting to bring him at even half that cost.”
Recent weeks have brought steadier displays in Scotland. “His concentration definitely needs work, though. While it has improved, you could feel the tension from the stands when a striker was pressing him in the early throws of the campaign.”
That leaves Wolves in control of his immediate future and a summer return looks likely. With Wolves 13 points adrift of safety with seven games left, he could yet be an option for Rob Edwards in the Championship. Red Star Belgrade have also been linked, though it remains unclear whether they would meet anything like Wolves’ initial outlay.
