An aerial camera crashed onto the edge of the pitch during Hungary’s friendly with Kazakhstan, a frightening incident that resulted in no injuries.

According to L'Équipe, the spidercam fell on Tuesday evening and landed roughly two metres from a pitchside cameraman.

The device dropped from about 20 metres and briefly disrupted the match in Debrecen.

No players or staff were beneath the camera at the time. The unit weighs around 30 kilograms and is normally held aloft by heavy-duty cables for several hours.

One of those cables is said to have given way, causing the fall at the Nagyerdei Stadion in Debrecen, the country’s second city.

The friendly ended 3-1 to Hungary.
