During Germany’s 3-0 win against France, RB Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer was present and, according to Bild, was looking at several players.
With missing out on European football, Leipzig are looking at restructuring how they are run after the departures of Xavi Simons, Benjamin Seško and likely Loïs Openda this summer.
Leipzig are interested in several players who were present on Wednesday.
From France, Freiburg right-back Killian Sildillia is of interest, and his contract in the Breisgau expires next summer. Ismaël Doukouré is also on Leipzig’s list. Schäfer tried to bring Doukouré to Wolfsburg, but he ended up staying at Strasbourg, like Sildillia, the 21-year-old’s contract expires next summer.
Leipzig’s interest also extends to a trio from the German side. Max Rosenfelder has had long-term admirers at the Red Bull Arena and could be an alternative to Cristhian Mosquera.
Nelson Weiper of Mainz has a contract until 2026, and due to the attacking departures at Leipzig this summer, would become one of their main attackers. The 20-year-old has shown his quality in the tournament after several injuries stunted his development.
Then there is also Rocco Reitz. The Gladbach midfielder has a contract at the club until 2028 and has a release clause that is valid from next summer worth €20m. Leipzig are interested in the 23-year-old as he has a mentality that could take up a leadership role.
