Inter U23 forward Matteo Spinacce gave an insight into his mindset and style of play in an interview with the club’s MatchDay Programme ahead of the Cremonese clash.

“I’m a striker with good physicality, which allows me to combine technique and speed,” Spinacce explained, with quotes via FCInterNews.

“I like not giving defenders reference points – attacking depth but also playing with my back to goal to help the team move up. I’m calm and never let myself be influenced.

“On the pitch, I always want the ball, even in the toughest moments.”

So far this season, Spinacce has 3 goals and 2 assists in 7 Serie C matches for Inter U23, finding the back of the net every 151 minutes on average.

“At Inter, I’ve learned to move around the pitch as both a first and second striker. Personally, I’ve matured a lot – going through a youth system like Inter’s gives you incredible value.”

The 20-year-old forward also shared his pre-match routine: “Before games, I try to stay calm, rest, and eat well.

“On the bus, I listen to a specific playlist, and during the warm-up, I always call my father.

“The most important match of my career? Playing in front of 40,000 Trabzonspor fans last year in the Youth League – the atmosphere was incredible.”

The 19-year-old forward has been a part of Inter’s youth system since 2020.

Rising up through the younger academy, into the U17s, U19s and finally in the U23s, Spinacce could be the latest talent to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Francesco Pio Esposito in the years to come.
