Denzel Dumfries delivered an out-of-this-world performance in Inter Milan’s 3-3 draw at Barcelona in the Champions League (UCL) semi-finals.
Speaking to Prime via FCInterNews, Dumfries hailed Inter’s collective effort at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
After losing three consecutive games without scoring, Simone Inzaghi’s side demonstrated their scoring prowess tonight.
Indeed, back from a month-long spell on the sidelines, Denzel Dumfries painted his first start since March with flying colors.
The 29-year-old netted his first Champions League brace, including a sensational overhead kick to make it 2-0.
Furthermore, he served Marcus Thuram on a platter for Inter’s early opener.
In doing so, Dumfries earned the ‘Man of the Match’ award, yet it was insufficient for a win.
Nonetheless, a spirited performance in Catalonia can inspire confidence in Inzaghi’s camp ahead of next week’s return leg in Italy.

Inter had to recover from a dismal three-game losing run to keep their Champions League dream alive.
However, they had Dumfries and Thuram to thank for orchestrating the team’s return to form.
“It was a great match. After three defeats, we saw the real Inter again,” Dumfries said after the game. “We played with heart.
“I’m proud. Now we focus on Verona, and then we’ll think about Barcelona again.
“I always want to win, but it was a good game. Everything is still open, we’ll see at San Siro.”
Furthermore, Dumfries refused to hide his excitement for delivered a remarkable showing against the Catalan juggernauts.
“I’m happy with the two goals,” he added. “I was coming back from a tough injury, but now I’m back.
“We look ahead, always forza Inter.”
Finally, he continues to believe in Inter’s chances of reaching the final.
Mission possible? Yes, we’re a strong team, and we have to show it in every match.”
