Manuel Neuer has returned to team training as Germany prepare for their World Cup opener against Curaçao on Sunday, after a calf problem sidelined him for both pre-World Cup friendlies.

According to BuLi News, the 40-year-old completed a full session on Monday in Winston-Salem in front of 3,000 fans.

Germany beat the USA 2-1 on Saturday, and Julian Nagelsmann subsequently expressed confidence that Neuer would be fit for the Curaçao match.

The head coach also said the absence of recent match practice would not be an issue, stressing that at this stage of his career he can handle pressure without needing time to settle.

On that basis, nothing should stand in the way of Neuer featuring against Curaçao on 14 June in Houston.
