However this deal might not go through in the January window - with sources in Italy now reporting that the Old Lady have moved on to Plan B.
Owing to Liverpool’s financial demands Juve will instead seek to sign Daniel Maldini from Atalanta - and also have plans to sign Jean-Philippe Mateta as their new centre-forward.
The Premier League champions wanted a permanent exit for Chiesa - even if that meant allowing him to move to Turin initially on loan.
That deal however looks too expensive for Juve who now look set to sit out the Chiesa transfer chase.
Now trusted Liverpool reported Paul Joyce in the Times reports that there is a new exit timeline around the versatile attacker. Instead of leaving Merseyside in January it looks like the Italian will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
“Reinforcements on the right would be a priority then, especially if, as seems likely given he barely plays, Federico Chiesa departs after the end of the campaign,” his report reads.
It’s not yet known which club will come forward for Chiesa at the end of the season - by which stage he will only have two years left on his contract.
As well as Juventus there has been interest in Chiesa from Napoli, AC Milan and Roma - with a return to Serie A now looking increasingly likely for a man who has only made one Premier League start this season.
