New Rotherham United boss Lee Clark has praised Leeds United loanee Harry Gray, highlighting the 17-year-old’s impact.
"Harry Gray, what a special player he is," Clark said. "He's only 17. Some of the touches and some of the flicks were amazing. He's got awareness and desire. He's got some career to look forward to," the Rotherham Advertiser reported.
The teenager completed the full 90 minutes in both Easter fixtures, playing on the left in a 0-0 draw with Stevenage and a 1-0 loss at bottom-placed Port Vale.
Gray returned to Leeds in March for hamstring treatment as the Millers dismissed Matt Hamshaw, who had signed him on loan in January. Clark arrived the same day and has used him on the left.
Under Hamshaw, Gray mainly led the line, though he also started three times on the left. Under Clark he has stayed wide, his four efforts so far off target.
Rotherham are 11 points from safety and have not won since February, their only victory in 12 matches coming that month. They have failed to score in six of their past seven, including each of the last four.
He has six games left of his loan, his first sustained senior spell a year on from a brief Leeds debut. He has scored twice in 14 outings for Rotherham, both in his opening four matches.
