FC Bayern are apparently already looking to the future in the center of attack. According to media reports, the Munich club are looking closely at Brentford attacker Igor Thiago, who is being touted as a possible long-term successor to Harry Kane
The Brazilian goalscorer is currently causing a stir in the Premier League – and has also attracted the interest of several top European clubs
As the TEAMtalk portal reports, those responsible at FC Bayern are keeping a close eye on the 24-year-old’s development. According to the report, Thiago is one of the strikers being discussed internally as a potential solution for the future. According to TEAMtalk, Munich have carried out „extensive background research“ in recent weeks
Although there are no concrete negotiations as yet, the Brazilian is being closely monitored
Thiago is in strong form this season. In 26 Premier League games, the striker has already scored 17 goals and assisted a further goal. This rate makes him one of the most eye-catching attackers in the league
His dynamism, physicality and finishing power make him interesting for many top clubs

However, a potential transfer would be anything but easy to implement. In addition to FC Bayern, several top English clubs are also said to be keeping an eye on the goalscorer
According to reports, Manchester City and Chelsea are also keeping a close eye on the attacker, and financially strong Premier League clubs in particular could become serious rivals for Munich in the transfer poker
The contractual situation is also making a potential deal more difficult. Brentford only signed Thiago in the summer of 2024 from Belgian top club Club Brugge for around €33 million
The Brazilian signed a long-term contract with the London club until 2031, which also includes an option for a further year, meaning there is little pressure on Brentford to sell the striker early
According to reports, the club are therefore demanding at least 80 million euros for their goalscorer, whose current market value is estimated at around 50 million euros by Transfermarkt
In addition, the player himself is said not to be pushing for a move at the moment and feels comfortable at the Premier League club
Despite these hurdles, Munich’s interest shows that Säbener Straße is already looking closely at the long-term future of the attacker
Kane is currently the undisputed fixture in the Bayern attack, but his contract with the German record champions runs until 2027. If the Englishman does not extend his contract, a change in the center forward position could be imminent in a few years at the latest
Players like Thiago could therefore already play a role in Bayern’s strategic planning.
