Maurizio Sarri faces a fresh midfield worry before Sunday’s Derby della Capitale, with Fisayo Dele-Bashiru missing Friday’s training due to a muscle issue, Il Messaggero reports.

His condition will be assessed on Saturday and again on Sunday morning, with a late call possible for the Roma clash.

Lazio already have problems in midfield. Nicolo Rovella is racing to shake off a groin problem after going off early in last weekend’s defeat to Sassuolo. Matias Vecino has been hampered by a thigh issue since the summer.

Dele-Bashiru has been a regular starter since the start of the season, largely because of limited alternatives. A transfer ban prevented Lazio from making summer signings, leaving Sarri to work with what he has.

Sarri has been weighing up dropping Dele-Bashiru after his underwhelming display at Sassuolo, with Reda Belahyane in contention for the left slot in the midfield three. The Nigerian’s fitness could tip the balance towards the young Moroccan.
