The Swedish international, who initially planned to stay with the Blaugrana for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign, is now strongly linked with a move to England due to fierce competition for places in the Barcelona attack, prompting a change in plans.

He started just seven league matches and had just 911 minutes of action across all competitions last season, but still managed six direct goal contributions – two goals and four assists.

Recognising the player’s need for regular first-team football to continue his development, several ambitious Premier League clubs have made inquiries.

Alongside frontrunners Brighton and Newcastle, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have also held formal talks with the player’s representatives to present their respective projects.

The Barcelona hierarchy are carefully considering their financial and sporting options regarding the ‘top-level’ 20-year-old.

They would prefer to agree a season-long loan, ensuring Bardghji gains vital experience while retaining long-term control over his future.

However, financial constraints mean a permanent sale could be approved if an interested club meets Barcelona’s €20 million valuation.

Currently, Brighton and Newcastle are at the front of a lengthy queue. Both clubs have a proven track record of integrating elite talent into their first-team squads and are eager to strengthen their wide options.

Newcastle and Brighton have already gone head-to-head for a player this summer, with the Seagulls beating the Magpies to the signing of Nigerian starlet Zadok Yohanna.
