Newcastle keeps an eye on Alexander Sørloth

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Newcastle United have not abandoned their pursuit of Alexander Sørloth, the Norwegian striker currently at Atlético Madrid.

At 29, Sørloth left Villarreal to join the Colchoneros in the summer of 2024. Since then, he has netted 26 goals in 61 matches across all competitions. Despite the recent arrivals of Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa, the Magpies are still considering an attacking reinforcement. The former Crystal Palace forward is reportedly open to a return to the Premier League.

The Norwegian international, capped 65 times with 24 goals, remains under contract with Atlético until 2028, but Newcastle could attempt to lure him away as early as the next transfer window. This is definitely a situation to watch closely, as Sørloth is a powerful forward hitting his prime.
