Newcastle United have aspirations of signing Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich.

After an underwhelming summer transfer window, the Magpies are looking to make at least one marquee signing at the end of the season.

And while the Geordies are expected to revisit signing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace after failing earlier this year, Sane is another candidate to arrive at St. James’ Park.

Leroy Sane could replace Miguel Almiron at Newcastle United

The 28-year-old will be out of contract at the Allianz at the end of the season and has not indicated he wants to renew.

This has alerted Newcastle United’s decision-makers, who are looking to find a long-term replacement for Miguel Almiron. The Paraguay international came close to leaving the club in the summer but remains a possible departure in January.

The German winger has previous experience playing in the Premier League too. Having left Manchester City four years ago, Sane knows exactly what it takes to make it in England’s top-flight.

It has been at Bayern where he has played his best football though. Since joining the German giants in 2020, Sane, who has 65 international caps to his name, has scored 49 goals and registered 50 assists in 179 matches in all competitions.
