Arsenal have also been linked with Tonali, but they have yet to make any concrete approach for him.

The Gunners pipped Tottenham to Eberechi Eze last summer, with the England international attacker opting for Arsenal at the last minute despite coming very close to joining Spurs.

The Lilywhites have offered £75 million for the Newcastle star, but the Magpies insist on getting something close to £100m.

Arsenal are looking elsewhere as they prefer Tonali’s teammate Bruno Guimaraes instead.

He has also been linked to Tottenham, but it appears he also wants to join the Gunners, seemingly dropping a huge hint on social media this evening after the news broke.

Spurs are yet to get over losing Eze to Arsenal and they will hope Tonali isreally keen on joining them.

The Lilywhites have signed Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi so far this summer and have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with West Ham United for Portuguese midfielder Mateus Fernandes.

More signings are expected and Tottenham could look to avoid entering any transfer battle with Arsenal after last summer’s experience.

Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi has attracted some top signings so far, and top players will be keen to link up with him as he looks to turn his side into credible top-five challengers in the Premier League.
