Newcastle United sign World Cup winner Gautrat | OneFootball

Newcastle United have completed the signing of experienced midfielder Morgan Gautrat on loan until December.

Gautrat was part of the USA team that won the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2015 and 2019, having represented her country 88 teams in total.

The midfielder has already played in Europe with French side Lyon but will now compete in the WSL2 after signing for the Magpies until the end of the calendar year.

"It's been a warm welcome," the 32-year-old said. "And I feel like I've been welcomed with open arms, and people have told me nothing but nice things about the city and the fans.

"I'm at a point in my career where I want to be a leader and want to be a part of making a mark and a legacy at a place like this at Newcastle to make history."

Gautrat joins the club from Orlando Pride, where she featured 13 times last season.
