Eddie Howe has confirmed that striker Alexander Isak will again be unavailable for selection amid the public standoff with the club. In his absence, Anthony Gordon is set to continue in a central striking role. Howe was full of praise for Gordon’s performance last weekend, highlighting his “devastating pace” and “really good work ethic”.

The manager has been handed a major fitness boost in midfield. Joe Willock, who was initially expected to be out for a longer period, has made a speedy recovery and is fit for selection after training well all week. He is joined in the squad by new £40m signing Jacob Ramsey, who is available to make his debut. Howe described Ramsey as “really impressive” and “very intelligent”. However, he has hinted that both he and Willock may have to settle for a place on the bench.
