North Londoners in search of a first win in five

Tottenham travel to Newcastle tonight looking to snap their winless streak. Thomas Frank’s side are four games without a victory in all competitions, having drawn 2-2 to Manchester United, lost heavily in the north London derby to Arsenal 4-1, thrown away two leads against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, and then been stunned by Fulham at home last weekend, falling to a 2-1 loss.

It has been a turbulent week for Frank, who called out the Spurs supporters in the week as a result of their booing the bad results. The north Londoners make the trip to Tyneside this evening knowing that their opponents themselves have been patchy this term, often winning one and then losing another. That has been the case over the last week, as the Magpies beat Manchester City 2-1 at St James’ Park, before falling to a 2-1 defeat at Olympique Marseille. They bounced straight back, however, with a 4-1 romping away at Everton.
