Neymar will miss Santos’ next Brasileirão fixture after receiving his third yellow card in a 2-2 draw with Chapecoense.
According to Diario Do Peixe, the booking came after the No 10 was fouled, then argued with opposing players. Despite scoring both goals for the Peixe, he was cautioned and must serve an automatic suspension.
The ban was initially set for the clássico against São Paulo in the 21st round, but that game was postponed due to the Copa Sudamericana play-offs tie with Universidad Central.
As a result, Neymar will sit out the 22nd round when Santos host Athletico Paranaense at Vila Belmiro on 9 August at 18:30.
Until then, he remains available to Cuca in other competitions. Santos face Universidad Central at Vila Belmiro on Tuesday 28 in the second leg, having won 4-1 in Venezuela and able to lose by up to two goals and still reach the last 16.
The club also meet Remo in the Copa do Brasil last 16, with the first leg on 1 August at Vila Belmiro and the second leg on 4 August at the Mangueirão in Belém.
