Nice’s pursuit of Crystal Palace’s Odsonne Édouard stalls | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, OGC Nice’s pursuit of Odsonne Edouard (27) from Crystal Palace has stalled. Complexities in the deal have made figures at the Allianz Riviera pessimistic over the possibility of the Frenchman moving to the Côte d’Azur.

Les Aiglons had identified the Crystal Palace forward as a serious candidate to bolster their attacking options on the eve of the new Ligue 1 season. However, with no sign of the deal progressing, Nice have begun to look at alternatives to Édouard. The former Celtic striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester City, making 4 appearances. The forward appears to have been made surplus to requirements at Selhurst Park.

With time running short before the transfer window closes, Nice’s recruitment team is now exploring other profiles, although Édouard’s name has not been entirely struck off the shortlist should negotiations unexpectedly reignite.
