With the La Liga season now concluded, Real Madrid have already begun preparations for the next campaign and are actively working in the transfer market.
Jose Mourinho is expected to be named as manager once the presidential elections are out of the way.
While the Portuguese has given the club a list of positions he wishes to strengthen, one transfer which has been taken for granted for some time now has been the return of Nico Paz.
Indeed, multiple reliable sources have indicated that Real Madrid intend to re-sign their former academy graduate from Como 1907 by activating their €9 million buyback clause this summer after the Argentine’s exceptional progress over the past two years.
However, in what could be a twist in the tale, Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Nico Paz would like to remain at Como for one more year.

Indeed, the Argentine playmaker wishes to continue under Cesc Fabregas for another year after playing a crucial role in helping the Italian club qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Como, for their part, are also doing everything possible to keep the former La Fabrica graduate at the club for another season.
However, the final decision ultimately rests with Real Madrid, who have not yet communicated their intentions either to Como or Nico Paz yet.
The Argentine has a contract with Como until 2028, but Real Madrid included three buy-back clauses within the transfer agreement.

The first option, worth €8 million during the summer of 2025, has now expired. However, further clauses remain active, allowing Los Blancos to re-sign the player for €9 million in 2026 or €10 million in 2027.
Despite Como’s desire to retain the player, the club’s hierarchy are aware that Mourinho, who is expected to return to Real Madrid, would like to attempt to bring Nico back immediately, although no definitive decision has yet been made.
As a result, Como are hoping that the upcoming presidential elections at Real Madrid could delay proceedings, potentially allowing them to continue their project with the Argentine for one more season.
