Spain have opened their final World Cup camp at Las Rozas as Luis de la Fuente's squad reconvenes. Six of the 26-player group are still to report.

According to El Correo, Pedro Porro will join on Sunday for family reasons, and Yéremy Pino, after Crystal Palace's Conference win over Rayo, on Monday.

Mikel Merino is due Tuesday after the Champions League final. Arsenal's Raya and Zubimendi arrive Wednesday, as does Fabián of PSG. To manage workloads, nine support players will train until Thursday, when Spain meet Iraq at Riazor.

A second friendly follows in Mexico overnight 8 to 9 June against Peru, who are not qualified. In all, 29 footballers checked in yesterday, a group that will rise to 35.

Nico Williams, Unai Simón and Aymeric Laporte are Athletic's three World Cup representatives. Iñaki Williams could join if Carlos Queiroz calls him for Ghana tomorrow, which would make four, the club's biggest contingent since Brazil 1950. Italy 1934, with five, remains the benchmark.

The quartet underpin Athletic, so Edin Terzic will wait several weeks before working with them at Lezama.

Simón and Laporte are expected to start the opener against Cabo Verde on 15 June at 18:00. Nico Williams, recovering from a hamstring injury on 2 May, considers it unlikely he will make that game. He is improving and taking it day by day, downplaying any favouritism and describing a win as very special, a dream for youngsters.
