Nicolás Otamendi, Benfica captain, has drawn attention in Argentina by unveiling the national team’s new away kit on his social media as squads prepare for the next FIFA window ahead of the World Cup.
According to Glorioso 1904, the centre-back posted the predominantly black change strip, finished with blue detailing and shoulder stripes, which will be worn in upcoming official fixtures.
The reveal comes as several national teams roll out their World Cup kits, raising excitement among supporters. The world champions are in Group J alongside Algeria, Austria and Jordan.
Otamendi has also been called up for Argentina’s next internationals, maintaining his status as a key figure. Even so, the South American side’s schedule carries some uncertainty, with one imminent fixture that may not go ahead.
This season for Benfica, Nicolás Otamendi, valued at 1 million euros, has played 43 official matches. That breaks down as 24 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 14 in the Liga dos Campeões, two in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça.
Across 3,809 minutes on the pitch, the defender has scored three goals.
