Real Madrid are dealing with a sensitive and potentially defining situation involving Vinicius Jr., as fresh revelations raise questions about both his market standing and his long-term future at the club.

According to journalist Romain Molina, there have been quiet efforts from the Real Madrid forward’s camp to explore opportunities across Europe.

However, in an interesting turn of events, those attempts have not produced the desired outcome as no club in Europe wants to sign him, although nothing is exclusively said about Saudi’s interest.

Despite previous links, even clubs like Chelsea are no longer showing concrete interest, suggesting a shift in perception around the Brazilian’s current situation.

What is Real Madrid’s position?

This is because club president Florentino Perez continues to view Vinicius as a central figure, not just on the pitch, but also in terms of global brand value and commercial appeal.

However, negotiations are far from straightforward, as the primary issue lies in salary expectations.

Vinicius already earns at the top end of the wage structure, with a progressive contract signed in 2023 that sees his earnings rise each season.

Currently on around €16 million net annually, his salary is set to increase further, placing him among the highest-paid players in the squad alongside Kylian Mbappe.

This financial trajectory has complicated renewal talks. Real Madrid are cautious about disrupting their wage balance, especially at a time when squad planning is becoming increasingly strategic.

As such, the club want to retain their star winger, but not at any cost.

More to the story

Meanwhile, Molina has made a fascinating revelation concerning Vinicius’ current trajectory.

A revealing comment from someone close to Vinicius, made in a private conversation some time ago, has resurfaced and sparked debate about his mentality and consistency.

“Vini is finished… he no longer has that hunger (passion) he used to have,” he reported said.

Despite the noise, one thing is clear that Real Madrid want to keep Vinicius, but only under conditions that make sense for the club’s long-term project.

Meanwhile, the lack of concrete external offers puts the player’s camp in a complicated position and offers Real Madrid a much-needed leverage.
