Oriana Sabatini has raised Boca hopes of signing Paulo Dybala by saying a decision on his future is not far away.
The 32-year-old forward is out of contract at Roma on 30 June. He has been sidelined for about three months since 25 January, but could return when Roma visit Bologna on Saturday for Serie A matchday 34, and could even start.
“I would love to be able to tell you yes,” she said after host Mario Pergolini joked he would cry if Dybala joined Boca. “I would too, because it would mean I finally knew what will happen. With a newborn, the uncertainty is a bit stressful.” She was speaking on El Trece’s Otro Día Perdido.
Sabatini added that she has no idea what comes next, whether Dybala stays in Europe or accepts a move to the Xeneize to play alongside Leandro Paredes. She said fans stop her daily urging her to bring her husband, but called it a professional decision, noting the couple are very happy in Italy.
She tempered expectations but hinted at a timeframe, saying it will not be long before there is clarity. “We are almost in May, then June, July.”
