Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has gone ahead and shut down a very dramatic Chelsea transfer rumour that came out this week.
The news comes after Chelsea beat ES Tunis 3-0 early on Wednesday morning in the Club World Cup in America after Blues head coach Enzo Maresca named a rotated starting Xl to rest a few players.
Chelsea needed to avoid a defeat to progress to the knockout rounds of the competition, and they did that with ease in the end against an opposition that they were just much better than in terms of quality.
Marc Cucurella got a deserved rest in the game, with Josh Acheampong starting at left back instead, but before the game, the Spanish international was expecting another tough game. But it was far from that for Chelsea in the end.
Miguel Delany of The Independent sent Chelsea fans into a frenzy yesterday by reporting that the club could be interested in selling young defender Josh Acheampong with keen interest coming in from Borussia Dortmund.

This was not news that Blues fans wanted to hear at all because he is highly rated amongst them and also as we kept hearing at the club and by Enzo Maresca.
Fabrizio Romano, amongst others as well, quickly came out to shut down this rumour and says that Chelsea have no intention of selling Acheampong any time soon.
He took to X:
“Chelsea maintain their position on Josh Acheampong: no intention to sell the player this summer.
“New contract was agreed few months ago and he’s seen as key part of the project despite interest from several clubs.”
That should be the end of this one then and the faith can remain with the club that they will not be selling one of their most promising young rising stars!
