According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds United’s Noah Okafor has returned from a calf injury. The 26-year-old featured as a late substitute in Switzerland’s final pre-World Cup friendly, a 1-1 draw with Australia on Saturday.
Okafor had been in fine form at the end of Leeds’ season but the problem sidelined him for their last three matches.
He was still selected by Murat Yakin for the 2026 World Cup squad, though he missed last Sunday’s penultimate warm-up against Jordan. Before that game, Yakin said he was not worried about the player’s long-term availability.
It marked Okafor’s first appearance for just over five weeks, arriving with 11 minutes to play.
Dan Ndoye put Switzerland ahead in the 14th minute, before Tete Yengi levelled for Australia four minutes before the hour.
Okafor now travels as one of four Leeds players involved, alongside Brenden Aaronson for USA, Gabi Gudmundsson for Sweden and Ao Tanaka for Japan. Switzerland begin next Saturday evening with their Group B opener against Qatar.
