FLW's Blackburn fan pundit doesn't think that Jon Dahl Tomasson is the right man for Norwich City

Norwich City are on the hunt for a new manager before the transfer window ends, and one of the names linked is former Blackburn Rovers and Sweden boss Jon Dahl Tomasson.
John Percy reported that the Canaries have interviewed Tomasson over the vacant role, after Liam Manning was sacked following a late defeat to Leicester City, his eighth home loss in as many matches during his brief time in the Carrow Road dugout.
In his year-and-a-half spell at Ewood Park, the Danish legend recorded a 46% winning percentage in 90 games in charge, even leading the club to an eighth-place finish in the 2022/23 campaign.
However, his time at the club ended on a sour note, calling out the Venkys to invest in the squad during the January transfer window in 2024, before departing Ewood Park by mutual consent the following month.
It was a turbulent time in charge of Blackburn for Tomasson, and whilst the successes he had in his first year with the club can't be denied, many Rovers fans felt that the negatives outweighed the positives.

Simon Middlehurst, FLW's Blackburn fan pundit, doesn't feel that a return to the Championship with Norwich would be a good move by the Canaries.
"I don't think it'd be a good appointment for them, as he brings a few red flags," he explained.
"Firstly, if he doesn't get what he wants, he looks to move on, and that was well known at Blackburn after the first year. It wasn't a project he wanted, and he looked to leave.
"Additionally, he doesn't get involved in transfers whatsoever; he just tells recruitment what players he's after position-wise and leaves it to them."
That second point may concern Norwich fans more than the first, as the recruitment at Carrow Road recently, under sporting director Ben Knapper, has been disappointing to say the least.
The likes of Ante Crnac, Matej Jurasek and Amankwah Forson have all been brought in for decent fees under the current board, and over the past six months to a year, have not shown the quality required to even make an outside shot at the top six.
With the Canaries battling relegation, sitting four points from safety currently, Middlehurst also doesn't believe that Tomasson's seemingly stubborn approach will benefit them either.
"He doesn't have a plan B," he continued. "That was well known at Blackburn, too.
"You look at the record in that first season, the first few months were a case of win, lose, win, lose. It was a good year, but I think we rode our luck quite a bit.
"So, he doesn't have a plan B; he just sticks to his style and doesn't use subs well, either. I don't think it'd be a good appointment," Middlehurst concluded.

One of Ben Knapper's first major decisions in his role as sporting director was to dismiss David Wagner the year after Norwich had finished in the play-offs to go down a rebuilding route with Johannes Hoff Thorup in charge.
Wagner wasn't the most popular man at Carrow Road, so his dismissal wasn't met with too much discourse, but the last year and a half has been dismal for Norwich fans.
Knapper has gotten a lot of things wrong during his two years at the club, from managerial hires to player arrivals, but it was announced that he'll remain in his post to find the next manager, despite fan protests for him to follow Manning out the door.
You feel that this has to be the time for the former Arsenal loans manager to get it right, as the short-term future of the club could be on the line. The wrong managerial choice once more could result in Norwich being relegated to the third tier for the first time since 2009.
A decision will ideally be made ahead of their next game away at Birmingham City on November 22, and if Middlehurst's assessment of Tomasson proves to be true, Canaries fans will be hoping that it isn't the former Blackburn boss that they go for.
