England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford insists there is no reason to get carried away following England’s loss to Japan.
The Three Lions were beaten 1-0 at Wembley, which followed a 1-1 draw with Uruguay last Friday.
But Pickford says he is not concerned by England’s record against stronger teams under Tuchel.
“No, not at all for me,” he said.
“This happens. It’s happened before with World Cups and the Euros.
“The media will ramp it up and put pressure but we’ve always excelled in tournaments and it always matters.
“We want to win every game for England, me especially. I hate losing. I think it’s the first goal I’ve conceded in so long for England so that hurts.
“But what matters is what happens in the World Cup and that’s our dream. That’s what we’ve got to work to achieve, to become the best team in the world.”
England were without several key players in both of their recent friendlies, including Harry Kane, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham.
But Pickford says it is up to the senior players involved to help bring through the new faces in the squad during this camp.
“I was a new face in 2018, playing Holland away, that was my second cap, before the Russia World Cup.” he said.
“People come in and it’s about how the older lads, the more experienced lads gel them into the squad and how we make them feel welcome.
“I think that’s what we do with England. The togetherness has been key for a long period of time when we’ve been in tournaments.
“We’ve got that as a team and that’s what we’ll push and have a top togetherness of the pitch, and you’ll see results on the pitch.”
