QPR could be set for a very busy summer as they look to reshape their squad, with Jake Clarke-Salter among those who could move on.
QPR are set for a crucial summer after what has been a frustrating and inconsistent 2025/26 campaign so far.
Even though there is still a lot of football to be played, the reality is that the R’s look set for a bottom half finish, and their poor form in 2026 is a concern.
Despite that, there have been some positives to take under Julien Stephan, and many QPR fans will recognise that they don’t have a massive budget that can help bring instant success.

Therefore, it’s about building and improving the squad, and whilst there will be a focus from supporters on incomings, the player trading model is key to QPR making progress.
That means departures are inevitable, and one player who could leave is Jake Clarke-Salter.
The defender has returned to action recently for the Londoners, but injury issues have impacted his time at Loftus Road since he joined, and FLW has been told by our fan pundit that he could be on the move this summer.
Here we look at TWO more players who could follow the centre-back out of QPR this summer…

Nardi’s contract at QPR is up in the summer, so it seems an inevitability right now that he will be searching for a new club, and, in truth, he has more than likely played his last game for the club.
The goalkeeping department has been a real issue for the R’s this season, with Nardi, Ben Hamer and current number one Joe Walsh having all featured.
That’s not ideal for anyone, and the fact Nardi isn’t making the squad at the moment shows where he is in the pecking order, and he won’t be enjoying it.
So, both the player and the club are likely to welcome the chance for a fresh start in the summer, and it’s an area of the pitch that QPR must urgently address ahead of next season, as none of their options have truly convinced.

Varane hasn’t hit the heights of last season, where he was undoubtedly a standout player, but he is still a key figure and someone that Stephan wouldn’t want to lose.
However, as outlined above, QPR have to sell well to kick-on as a club, and he is one of few individuals that could command a decent fee.
It was claimed in January that St Etienne had a loan offer with an option to buy Varane for £5.2m rejected, and there was interest in the 24-year-old from across Europe.
So, he is a player with a good reputation on the continent, and if QPR could get a guaranteed fee of in excess of £5m, many would see it as excellent business, particularly as Varane’s levels have dropped this season.
It would represent a substantial profit on the £875,000 they paid to sign the midfielder, and the recruitment team would then need to use that money to improve the squad overall, which is how they need to operate to progress as a club.
