Morgan Gibbs-White underlined his case to England manager Thomas Tuchel as Nottingham Forest ended their season with a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth at the City Ground.

According to Nottingham Post, Gibbs-White, Ibrahim Sangare and Elliot Anderson led the home ratings after influential displays.

With safety secured with two games to spare, it was chiefly about pride. The afternoon doubled as a celebration of survival and the official unveiling of the renamed John Robertson Stand.

In searing heat, Forest began with intent yet Bournemouth carved the first sights of goal, Alex Toth and Tyler Adams shooting off target from range. Igor Jesus and Omari Hutchinson threatened before Gibbs-White curled over following a driving run by Chris Wood.

Djordje Petrovic made the first save close to the half-hour, beating away Igor Jesus after Hutchinson’s pass and cut inside. Wood then headed against the post from an Anderson cross, and the breakthrough arrived on 34 minutes when Hutchinson rolled a free-kick for Gibbs-White to drill home.

Bournemouth levelled after the break, Marcus Tavernier thumping past Matz Sels from Adrien Truffert’s set-up. Both sides chased a winner, Sels producing excellent stops while Taiwo Awoniyi headed wide.

Neco Williams was tireless down the left, while Jair Cunha found it difficult at full-back. Sels impressed after the equaliser, and Hutchinson’s assist capped a mixed afternoon.
