According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest have lodged an improved second bid for Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read, who is open to the move, with personal terms not viewed as an issue and the deal described as under way.
Forest had an earlier offer rejected this month as they look to strengthen at right-back under new head coach Oliver Glasner for the 2026/27 campaign.
Read, 20, a Netherlands Under-21 international, has attracted interest from Manchester City and Bayern Munich after eye-catching seasons with Feyenoord.
He signed fresh terms with the Eredivisie club last year, keeping him under contract until 2029, and has featured in both the Champions League and Europa League.
Forest’s only summer arrival so far is free agent midfielder Xaver Schlager, 28, who agreed a two-year deal this week to reunite with Glasner from their Wolfsburg days.
The club continue to prioritise players with potential to develop and increase in value, a profile Read appears to fit.
