Nottingham Forest are assessing Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall as a potential Elliot Anderson replacement, The Athletic reports. Midfield is expected to be a priority with Manchester City pursuing Anderson.

City have made two bids and a deal is expected eventually. Their latest offer was £106m plus £15m in add-ons, with Forest wanting a figure closer to £130m and City anticipated to return with a third bid.

Reports have suggested Bergvall has asked to leave Spurs this summer, with concerns about his minutes under Roberto de Zerbi as the club target midfield reinforcements. Under De Zerbi, who took charge in March, he made one start and played 112 minutes, and he is contracted until 2031.

Forest would likely face competition if they move. Aston Villa and Chelsea tracked him in January when Spurs refused to sell, and Villa are still admirers but would need to offload a midfielder. Daily Mail reports that Bayern Munich are monitoring his situation.

The Sweden international is at the World Cup, delivering an assist off the bench in a 5-1 win over Tunisia before another substitute outing in a 5-1 defeat to the Netherlands. Barcelona were keen before he joined Spurs from Djurgarden in 2024, and he has made 78 appearances since.
