Nottingham Forest host Liverpool in a huge Premier League contest on Tuesday night.
This evening’s clash is arguably the biggest contest between the teams in four decades. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, who have won six straight league games, can move within three points of their league-leading opponents with a win.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has insisted Forest are in the title race this season, having exceeded all expectations to sit third in the table in January.
Forest are also the only team to have beaten Liverpool in the Premier League this season, after Callum Hudson-Odoi’s goal earned a 1-0 win at Anfield in September.
A repeat of that result will raise real belief that Forest can last the distance.
Nottingham Forest arrive into the crucial contest with an almost full squad at their disposal. Ibrahim Sangare is out with a hamstring issue, though fellow midfielder Danilo made his return from an ankle issue at the weekend.
Forest beat Luton Town 2-0 to progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup and rotated their side ahead of Liverpool’s arrival tonight.
Callum Hudson-Odoi, Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Morgan Gibbs-White were all afforded much-needed rest during the weekend win.
Nottingham Forest predicted XI: Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams; Anderson, Dominguez; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood.
