Valencia CF’s Nou Mestalla has moved into its key roof phase, with preparatory works now visible around the site. The club said on its official channels that installation activity is increasing.
Working with FCC Construcción, Valencia are preparing the structure that will cover the entire 70,044-seat capacity, with the intention of the stadium being operational in summer 2027.
Horta Coslada and PFEIFER have advanced the auxiliary scaffolding needed to fit the traction-ring cables. Protective systems are also being added in the stands to allow deployment of the roof’s radial cables.
Progress continues on the exterior, including the façade and stair towers, with four structures for the north end and the east side already in place.
Recent weeks have brought further work on the roof supports, the so-called bird nests above each pillar that will tension the main cables. Further tasks include added scaffolding in the seating bowl, assembly of the compression rings, and new structural pillars.
The completed roof is set to shield every seat from the weather and enhance the noise from stands to pitch. Its outer perimeter will house a photovoltaic array.
