NPFL/matchday 4: Enyimba and Rivers United remain unbeaten
The 4th matchday of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) delivered its share of surprises as reigning champions Remo Stars suffered defeat. Meanwhile, Enyimba and Rivers United continue their unbeaten runs.
Plateau United finally tasted victory after three consecutive losses. Hosting the champions Remo Stars, the Jos Men clinched a 2-0 win at home, giving coach Shola Adegun his first reason to smile this season.
Enyimba’s flawless start to the season continues. The Aba Warriors defeated Bayelsa 2-0, remaining unbeaten and yet to concede a single goal. Four wins from four matches already underline their title credentials.
Rivers United are also yet to be beaten. They edged a tight contest 1-0 against Shooting Stars, moving up to second in the standings. In Lagos, Ikorodu City finally broke their run of three consecutive draws, defeating Barau FC 2-0. For a squad that has undergone so many changes, this marks a crucial first step toward consistency.

Among the newly promoted sides, Kun Khalifat made a statement by defeating El-Kanemi Warriors 3-1, scoring three goals for the first time this NPFL season and announcing their presence in the league. Some teams are struggling: Shooting Stars and Barau FC remain stuck on two points and will need to bounce back fast to avoid being dragged into the relegation battle.
