Nuno Espirito Santo says West Ham are assessing Crysencio Summerville ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final against Leeds United at the London Stadium. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the manager outlined wider fitness checks across the squad after the international break.

Speaking on Friday, he said Summerville is under daily assessment and that any decision would be taken close to kick-off if the player feels right. He added that several players returned buoyant from international duty, while others came back with issues.

The former Leeds winger has not featured since sustaining a calf problem in last month’s fifth-round tie against Brentford, missing West Ham’s last two matches. The injury also kept the 24-year-old out of the Netherlands fixtures in March, and there had been reports he could return after the break.

Even without him, the Hammers had 10 players away on international duty. Konstantinos Mavropanos suffered a head injury in Greece’s 1-0 defeat to Paraguay last Friday, was withdrawn with seven minutes remaining, then missed Tuesday’s match against Hungary in Budapest.

Doubts also surround centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo, who picked up a calf injury in the warm-up before the Aston Villa game prior to the break and did not feature. Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has not played since an under-21 appearance in September because of a back problem.
